Hockey training uses
Use the surface for skating technique, edge control, starts and stops, stickhandling, puck control, passing and shooting. It is suitable for hockey players, coaches and families wanting a repeatable year-round practice space at home.
Installation
- Choose a clean, flat and stable area.
- Place the first synthetic ice tile flat in the desired position.
- Align the next tile in the same direction, lift it to approximately a 15-degree angle and engage the interlocking edges.
- Press the connection firmly into place. If needed, gently tap the edge with your hand or a plastic or rubber mallet until the tiles sit secure and flush.
- Repeat for each tile and check that every connection is even before skating.
Skating, cleaning and maintenance
Synthetic ice is designed to emulate refrigerated ice, but it does not feel identical. It generally has more friction, so skaters may need slightly more effort for propulsion. Synthetic ice can also increase skate-blade wear and require more frequent sharpening.
- Remove dust, debris and skate shavings with a broom, vacuum or squeegee.
- Inspect and clean the surface every one to two weeks, or whenever debris is visible.
- Check regularly that tile connections remain secure, level and flush.
Important: These synthetic ice tiles are intended for hockey training. Use suitable hockey and skating protective equipment, supervise younger skaters and follow normal skating safety practices.
